Today is Customer Appreciation Day and every year without fail a parcel arrives at our door from Garrards Horse & Hound for my husband to thank him for the support over the past year with his pest control business.

Hubby never expects it but when it arrives it brings a smile to his face as the appreciation is what its about.

Lets talk hashtags. 🤗

Instagram is driven by hashtags and implementing them correctly can be a big advantage to your account.

A big debate I see often is how many hashtags should we use on each post. Instagram allows 30 hashtags so use them. You don't get penalised for using the full 30. As your account grows you can use less but whilst you are growing your account use as many as you can find that represents your niche and image.

Try to stay clear of over populated hashtags such as love. You will last less than a second in the explore page and it is a waste of 1 of your 30 hashtags.

Research your hashtags via the search area on Instagram and see if the hashtag is relevant to your niche or image. You will be surprised with hashtags that you think mean one thing and on Instagram it means another. Just remember that whole world uses that hashtag not just Australia and we all know each country has different meanings for different words.

Lastly adding the right hashtags for your niche will help deter the follow/unfollow game that happens as using the correct hashtags will attract the right followers.

Each social media platform has its own unique way to make connections. Let's talk Instagram! It's mainly visual so it's about the image but not all images tell a story so the connection is being lost.

I find it hard to connect with accounts that just post images and hashtags.. They say a picture tells a 1000 words but to me sometimes the "words" aren't clear and I like to read about the story behind the image.

Next time you post a killer image, tell the Story so it makes a connection with your followers. Make the story as long or as short as you want it to be.
